Dana Cook, CEO & Director of Fun

 

Dana Cook understands how experiences connect people.

Known for her unique capacity to envision the big picture while thoughtfully coordinating every detail of a project, she brings an unmatched balance of visionary perspective and meticulous organization to her work.

Dana Cook & Co. began as DanaEvents, when two of Dana’s friends and colleagues literally pushed her off the cliff (a lunch date one day, a website and business cards 24 hours later) to spread her wings and start making an impact. DanaEvents was always more than just events, filling diverse roles with expertise and flair. Over the years, the business continued to grow and evolve, expanding its services and earned WBE certification. Today, Dana and her small-but-mighty team at Dana Cook & Co. do exceptional work for clients they love. 

Dana has deep roots in many diverse industries — her career has spanned from leadership positions in statewide associations, cultural institutions, tourism networks, museums, and public festivals, to statewide museum and tourism boards. This firsthand experience encompassing strategic, back-of-house, and front-of-house responsibilities informs her uniquely holistic, resourceful, and intuitive approach.

Clients value her ability to understand, work with, and coordinate every individual role for an event or initiative. Her expertise is set apart by her innate positivity and the signature spark of creativity she infuses into everything she does.

Dana spent a decade teaching for the Graduate Program in Museum Studies at Syracuse University. Her background in studio art and museums is foundational to her creative philosophy and approach. She thrives in the role of planner and connector, enjoying the process of bringing forth inspiration, transforming ideas into substance, and kindling new and lasting connections for everyone she works with. She believes “if we’re not enjoying ourselves, we need to reevaluate.” 

Dana lives in upstate New York with her children, Reagan and Sam. An avid runner, athlete, and connector, her greatest challenge is sitting still — unless it’s sitting on the dock at her lakefront cabin with a good drink in hand, watching her kids swim in the company of loved ones.


Sabrina Craven, Project Planner + Coordinator

 

Sabrina Craven has been a part of the Dana Cook + Co team since the beginning. Sabrina helps clients enjoy the successes of truly remarkable events. With a wealth of expertise in logistics and a natural knack for anticipating project and vendor needs, she is integral to creating unique events that shine.

Sabrina has earned a well-deserved reputation for her gracious, positive energy, unmatched work ethic, and southern hospitality. Her artistic vision and aesthetic genius are channeled and amplified by her organizational skillset, clear communication, and resourcefulness. She specializes in sourcing and vendor management, working with Dana to seamlessly cover every detail. Sabrina thrives in helping clients tell their stories effectively and confidently to their peers and communities while ensuring everyone enjoys a fantastic experience throughout the process of planning and management. She loves opportunities to support the inspired, life-enriching missions of cultural institutions, tourism industry leaders, and purpose-driven organizations through fun, memorable events, fundraising, and other vision-oriented projects.

Sabrina Craven draws from a deep foundation in customer service, retail management, and logistics, as well as a longtime love of entertaining. She previously held roles in merchandising and special events for Colgate University. A passionate volunteer with a heart for service, she is focused on making a difference in the lives of others across all facets of her life and career. 

When not working or volunteering, Sabrina loves being with her family — her wonderful husband and four active kids. She believes that “happiness never decreases by being shared.”
